CICELY NELSON, a former ballet dancer, received her BA from Columbia University in Pre-medical studies and soon thereafter certified in both the Stott and Classical Pilates Methods. Her dance background, her anatomical education, and her studying of the two methods (with Stott’s emphasis upon the most modern biomechanical principles and the purist philosophy of the Classical method - which focuses primarily on how Joe Pilates formulated the exercises) have given her an extremely solid foundation as an instructor. An experienced teacher, having taught everyone from New York City Ballet dancers to ninety-three-old osteoporotics, she is especially interested in injury prevention and rehabilitation – and with stalling the effects of physical aging. TYSAN LERNER has a dance background.
